where it STARTED
ORIGINS — Launch of OnEMillionOfUS
At the United Nations Youth Climate Summit on October 2, 2018, OneMillionOfUs was officially launched to the public.
PRom At The POLLS
In 2020, we launched a campaign in partnership with Voters of Tomorrow called Prom At The Polls. An initiative giving our generation the unique prom we lost due to the pandemic, while turning out to vote.
We called on elected officials to bring young people to the table.
Through the innitiative YouthInGov, OneMillionOfUs called on elected officials to establish an Office of Young Americans within the Executive Office of the President for young people to be a part of the critical policy decision making processes.
Midterm Elections
In 2022, OneMillionOfUs continued to share resources and empower Gen Z to get out to vote for the 2022 Midterm Elections.
Connectivity & creating community connections
With our team of dedicated young people we worked to understand what ways we can expand out impact beyond voter registration/education, and civic awareness campaigns. It was from here form our community that we learn of ways to more holistically support young people outside of major election years, that transformed the way we look at the work we do.
ReBranded, Expanded, & UNited
In 2024, we expanded OneMillionOfUs into Waic Up to not only work to build a movement of young voters but also grow to support activists, independent journalism, and so much more. We are now a hub for social impact and civic awareness and engagement for Gen Z.
